My resolution for 2010 - more non-fiction! Including, but not limited to The Golden Bough and something about native Irish religious traditions. Native as in original/Celtic/indigenous spiritual traditions. I have some research to be doing...

Here's wishing you all a happy, healthy and book-filled New Year!

  1. Hi porpoise, here's a recommendation of a fascinating nonfiction book for you, since you're already interested in Teddy R.: The Imperial Cruise: A Secret History of Empire and War by James Bradley. Excellent book that essentially blames TR for abetting policies which led to Pearl Harbor! And thanks for reading my Stieg Larsson translation. Best, Reg

  2. Reg -

Thanks so much for the TR recommendation. I'll have to hunt it down, which may be a bit of a challenge in the UK, but it will be out there somewhere. He is a fascinating person. And thank you also for your translations of Steig Larsson's books. I just finished the second in the series, and loved it from beginning to end. It's very sad that we won't get to read any more of your translations of his work.

    Come back again!
